Creating a Wiki
Wikis can be used by all students to create and complete assignments. Wikis allow students to imput and edit text, embedd files such as videos and access their wiki at home. Wikis are beneficial in the classroom as they allow teachers and students to see each others work and progress. Inclusion is promoted with the use of a wiki as all students can communicate on it. When using a wiki, students should remember to reference their work with the teacher scaffolding and supporting them in selecting appropriate information. When adding to the course Mobile Phone wiki, it was good to be able to edit and see what other students had written. Wikis are very beneficial for group work as it allows the group to access it at home. Below is a PMI chart highlighting the plus, minus and interesting points of using a wiki in the classroom.
